This years Chennai music festival went off with a great start for me.

Visakha Hari gave an excellent discourse on great composers like Purandadasar and Muthuswami Dikshitar, and why they were real geniuses in their their musical compositions.

She also talk about understanding and realizing the value of Time.

She says,

To understand the value of a week, ask an editor of a weekly, as he knows what it takes to finish an issues and already the time clock has started for the next one.

To understand the value of an minute, ask the person who just missed his train by a minute, and you will understand the value of what that costed him or her.

So beautifully said.

Would love to hear this again, as there was so much to learn and so much to absorb.
